Manchester @ MIPIM 2023 programme announced

The Manchester @ MIPIM Partnership has revealed its full schedule of events for MIPIM 2023.

The programme will look to the future of Greater Manchester and the progress the city-region is currently making to prepare for tomorrow, seeking to uncover how the innovations put in place today will support each borough of Greater Manchester to become fairer and greener while facilitating smart growth.

2023 marks the return of the Manchester @ MIPIM Partnership to the international real estate event held annually in Cannes, France, after a three-year break, and will be the city’s 21st year of facilitating important discussions about issues including infrastructure, housing, innovation, placemaking, and sustainability.

Tuesday 14 March

Proceedings commence with a welcome from Paul Dennett, Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester and Mayor of Salford, followed swiftly by a key European session, Shaping the Innovation Rich City, featuring leading figures from some of Europe’s most exciting growth cities including Stockholm and Antwerp – moderated by Professor Greg Clark CBE.

Other highlights for Tuesday include: Prosperity Beyond Profit: Urban Sustainability and Green Growth Across Greater Manchester, featuring speakers from Arcadis, Bruntwood, and Manchester City Council; Delivering Fairer and Inclusive Cities: The Salford and Belfast Way, featuring speakers from Arup, Salford City Council, Homes England, and Belfast City Council; and Is Levelling Up the Zero-Sum Game?, featuring speakers from Metro Dynamics, the Office for Investment, and Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

Wednesday 15 March

The second day of MIPIM has a strong focus on innovation, with sessions including: Smart Growth Through Innovation: Innovation Greater Manchester and Rochdale, Salford and Stockport Growth Locations, featuring speakers from Arcadis, Salford City Council, Rochdale Development Agency and Atom Valley Mayoral Development Zone; Concretene: A Manchester Innovation to Lower Global Construction Carbon Emissions, featuring speaks from Arup, Nationwide Engineering Group & Co-Founder of Concretene, and Bruntwood; Net Zero Town Centres: Stockport and Wigan's Net Zero Ambitions, featuring speakers from Deloitte, Wigan Council, Cityheart, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, and Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation; and Manchester Urban Evolution: The Compact, Walkable City, featuring speakers from SimpsonHaugh, Trilogy, and Manchester City Council.

Thursday 14 March

Culture plays a key role in day on the morning of three at MIPIM with sessions including: Factory International: In Conversation with Tom Bloxham and Randel Bryan and Culture as a Driver of Growth Across the UK, featuring speakers from Downtown in Business, Salford City Council, The EC BID, Coventry City of Culture, and Liverpool City Council. The afternoon includes a key session, Future Proofed Investment: Can Manchester Deliver for Generation Beta? Imagining 2033, featuring speakers from NOMA, Manchester City Council, SimpsonHaugh, and Arup.
