Cath Wilson – Non-Executive, Eric Wright Facilities Management, part of the Eric Wright Group

It’s gearing up to be a busy and exciting four days as myself and colleagues from across the Eric Wright Group make final preparations for our inaugural trip to MIPIM as a supporting partner on the Manchester Stand.

We’ll be in the company of some of the world’s most illustrious property experts and it’s a superb platform for us to illustrate the region’s incredible achievements to our peers.

You only need to look at the Manchester skyline to see it dotted with cranes. The metropolitan city is currently dominated by construction and development activity, something that’s creating a positive ripple effect across the entire Northern Powerhouse, particularly within our hometown of Lancashire. There really is nothing artificial about our sector’s ability to induce development opportunities with the delivery of schemes unparallel to any other regional cities.

The exceptional expertise on offer within Eric Wright Facilities Management dovetails the wider capabilities of the group, especially our construction and healthcare divisions, enabling us to provide a one-stop-shop for all our clients’ property needs; an offering that’s proven highly sought after in both the public and private sectors.

Our work across the northern ‘supercity’ includes delivering professional services and property maintenance to a portfolio of twelve College campuses in Manchester, as well as working with the local authority to provide planned and reactive services across their buildings.

As a company, we’re uniquely placed to support clients in the management of a variety of properties in the education, health, retail, industrial and commercial sectors. Working alongside our sister company, One Partnership, we’ve delivered more than 100,000 sqm of new fit-for-purpose, health & social care estates across the North West including Greater Manchester, Cheshire and East Lancashire.

Our team of surveyors, engineers and energy managers cover a range of professional services. An offering that encompasses building surveying, project management, life cycle modelling and energy management services, to name but a few.

These complementary services enable assets to be optimised throughout their lifecycle and maximise the overall value. By supporting aspirations and business goals, we ultimately help our clients occupy fit-for-purpose and cost effective spaces.

As we turn our attention to driving forward our ambitious growth plans, we also want to build upon our commitment to improving the communities that we work in.

The Eric Wright Group is wholly owned by the Eric Wright Charitable Trust and focuses on developing young talent in the region. In addition to owning and operating the Lakeland Adventure Centre in Cumbria, we recently teamed up with Preston’s College to open a 1,131 sqm Eric Wright Learning Foundation construction centre on campus. The industry has found its feet after the recession bit hard and its facilities like these that will future proof the workforce and provide us with access to skilled workers.

I foresee it being a hectic few days in Cannes and a great opportunity for all Manchester delegates to show the world what real Northern talent is all about.
