Manchester at MIPIM Partnership update

Over the summer we surveyed members of the Manchester at MIPIM Partnership to glean views and thoughts about MIPIM, and to gain feedback on potential new streams of activity that Marketing Manchester could deliver for the Partnership in 2022 and beyond.

The headline result of the survey showed that 74% of Partnership respondents do not want to attend MIPIM 2022. This was fed back to Manchester City Council who, along with Marketing Manchester, have supported the decision not to exhibit at MIPIM next year.

A small delegation will represent Greater Manchester without a stand presence at MIPIM 2022, and a further decision regarding Manchester’s attendance and exhibition space in 2023 will be made next year.

The ongoing Covid-19 situation and the financial implications of investing in MIPIM are both significant variables at this time, therefore I hope you will agree that a review year is a sensible route to take for 2022 and that the MIPIM partnership model and packages are paused.

However, our intention remains to evolve and grow the city-region’s presence on the national and international stage, and we are exploring new partnership activities which we can deliver that build on the partnership successes of the past 20 years. We will be in touch later this year with further details about these opportunities.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support for the Manchester at MIPIM Partnership and we look forward to working with you as we go into a bright and prosperous 2022.
